Then came the fire and winds....

We woke up on Sunday the 21st to really strong winds. We were saddened to find out it had knocked down our favorite tree. We took a family photo in front of it each year. The girls really loved picking the sap off of it and calling it fairy gold. It also it gave us some really little plums that were so sweet.



B got out the his chain saw and went to work on it. Unfortunately, nearby fires were making it very unpleasant for him.

The girls and I were on the way home from a shopping trip when he called and told me that one of the fires was getting close to home. This is what the sky looked like on our ride home. This was from a fire that was north of us.



The fire south of us came over the hill and we could see flames from our house. Luckily the fire department is down the street and they were on it pretty quickly. There were working on it into the night.
